The Pulp Mill Collection captures the demanding work of a small early-20th-century pulp mill, where raw logs are transformed into the material used to manufacture paper. Set against an active mill with smokestacks, stacked pulpwood, and railroad tracks, the scene depicts the hardworking men whose labor kept the operation running.

The collection features a variety of mill workers, each performing a specialized task. A foreman oversees the operation, while laborers carry heavy pulpwood logs, shovel and move raw materials, and transport supplies throughout the yard. The men are dressed in period work clothes—coveralls, work shirts, caps, suspenders, and sturdy boots—reflecting the practical attire worn in the pulp mills of the early 1900s.
